A key responsibility for managing agents is to provide high quality, transparent service charge accounts, to demonstrate to residents and other interested parties the integrity with which funds raised through service charges have been spent.

Service charge accounts are an automatic requirement for any property containing five or more residential units and may also be required for properties with four or fewer units, at a leaseholder’s request. Service charge accounts for properties with five or more units must also be certified by a suitably qualified audit professional.
